Lab Medicine

The Department of Laboratory Medicine at JPNA Trauma Centre is a state-of art diagnostic department consisting of Hematology, Microbiology and Bio-chemistry laboratories. The laboratories run round the clock to provide diagsntic services to trauma patients. The laboratories together conduct approximately 2 lakh investigations annually. Most of the equipments in the labs are fully automated, facilitating rapid results. The department is also responsible for the hospital infection control related activities at the centre.
Blood Bank Lab
Staff: The department has two Faculty members: Dr Purva Mathur & Dr S Arulselvi and two Senior Residents. The technical staff comprises of 12 Laboratory technicians and 10 Laboratory attendants. Training: The department provides training on various aspects of laboratory management and Infection control protocols to the staff at Trauma Centre. In addition, long and short term training is provided to students on a regular basis.
Lab
Research: Collaborative research work is regularly done on various aspects of trauma management with other departments like surgery, orthopedics and neurosurgery.
